I’m LaCiane! (pronounced LaShawneE)
In my former life, I was a Manager of Library and Reference Services for a large law firm. Basically, for over 25 years, I was a Law Librarian.
These days, I’m following my passion – BAKING! I’m not baking full-time, though there are days it seems so. On average, I spend 4-6 hours a day in my kitchen baking and creating confections.
Hmmm, a little more about myself. I’m a self-taught baker, cook…Perhaps not completely self-taught, I learned how to cook and bake from my mom. Yes, I still reference her recipes and adjust accordingly.
I’ve always enjoyed baking and initially started out with baking Pound Cakes – hence the name LaCiane’s Pound for Pound Cake… Thanks to my friends and customers, I’ve been pushed to create other de-lec-ta-bles. As a result, cheesecakes and all things chocolate have moved to the forefront.
Baking is my therapy, chocolate is my drug of choice. If you’ve looked at my menu of offerings, you’ll see LOTS, I mean LOTS of chocolate options available.

My Motto “I bake because punching people is frowned upon…” Yep, I found this saying somewhere on the web (etsy, pinterest…) and realized that’s ME!
Notepad in hand, I go into my kitchen and create, modify, and yes, I use everyone around me as guinea pigs.
I cook with lots of love, real butter, heavy cream, and sugar… yes, my cakes are made from scratch and aren’t for the faint of heart.
Low Carb/Cal, Vegan and Gluten-Free Options…
I am in the process of testing some low carb/cal recipes. Additionally, I’m working on both vegan and gluten-free desserts.
I’m working on shipping options and will reach out once I’ve found resource(s) that are both reliable and economical.
